Hello from Belgium, were all settled in to our new home here now and quite enjoying life back on the road. Since I last wrote we stayed a few more days in the UK then drove over here and spent a couple days training and getting settled in here which was cool then we road tripped down to the south of France for my first race of the season in Valence. It went well and I got on the 3rd step of the podium which I was really pleased with as its tough against all the French lads on their home turf or rather stones and rocks! But I enjoyed my weekend with the new team, and we headed back Sunday night. That week was spent getting accumulated to the deep sand of Belgium/Holland again which I was a bit ropey on at first but it came back to me quickly. Then we headed back on homeland to Hawkstone Park for the annual international and UK season opener. I came away with 2nd overall there and a creditable 5th in the superfinal against mx1 riders, I wasn’t best pleased with how I rode at Hawkstone this year and I feel like ive got a hell of a lot more to give than that, but to come away with second from there is a good result.

                                                                         Valkenswaard GP Easter weekend.

 Hi Guys,
Sorry I haven't wrote a blog for a week or so its been a hectic few weeks leading up to the first GP.  I had a nice weekend off before the first GP, a few days before that I managed to get out and ride a bit of hard pack so its not to alien for when I go to Bulgaria in two weeks and it was nice to have a weekend off after six weeks racing on the trot.
The week leading up to Valkenswaard I started riding sand again so that I was prepared as they did forecast for it to be a wet one which would mean Valkenswaard would be a completely different track, so I was ready for pretty much everything going into it.
My parents came over on the tuesday before which was nice as it was my birthday on the wednesday and I  haven't been home for two months so it was good to catch up with them.  It seems strange that I am 22 now and I am in my fifth season racing GPs now but I don't feel any older than when i started I just feel a bit wiser but I am still learning more now than I ever have done.
On saturday we drove the whole of 5 minutes from our house to Valkenswaard which most defiantly is my home GP nowadays, I had to spend most of the day doing press stuff, so having pictures taken and interviews, then walked the track and spoke to a lot of faces that I haven't seen since the last GP.  We then came home to meet Blu's Parents who had also come over to support me for the weekend and went out for dinner.
Then it was game on for sunday were I felt good and in the qualifying face I holeshot and led for half the race which felt good and gave me a lot of confidence knowing that I have got good pace at the moment and it is still very early.
Then monday morning, went out for the warm up practice, the team and I had changed the rear shock a lot and on the 4th lap I misjudged a jump and had a very big crash and landed on top of my head and knocked my self for six.  I got up slowly but really didn't feel good and my bike was absolutely trashed, so I went back to the camper to try and pull myself around a bit, I was really unsure on whether I would be riding or not but after an hour of laying down and a good cup of tea I felt good enough to get some points on the day.  And sure enough I holeshot the first race and rode a good steady race for 5th, which I was really pumped about after the morning crash.
The second race I didn't get such a good start but I was in 8th on the first lap but then I had a small crash trying to pass someone and lost 10 positions in the process so I started fighting back from 18th and got back to 9th at the finish but the gear box on my bike was almost unridable so I am confident I could have got a lot further without those problems but still I am happy with 6th overall at the first GP of the year.

                                                            JULY 2012 UPDATE

Hi everyone, every time I go to type a update for my site – which I understand is not very often, I always sit and think for a few minutes about how to start it of and every time I end up with ‘hi everyone’ haha, so apologies for the rather dull start to this. But anyway I’m not a English teacher I am a MX racer so lets talk about that. The last few weeks have come together quite well for me and I can honestly say its been down to nothing but hard work. After the Belgian GP I came home for the first time in nearly 5 months, which was so nice – even if it was only for 7 days. It was great to ride my track again, to start with it was like a forest with so many stinging nettles and weeds but after a week of thrashing it there was nothing but light brown dirt shining from the hill. I stuck to my program given to my by my trainer Werner Dewit, which was a tough one. And at the end of the week we had a BBQ and all my mates came over that I hadn’t see for a while, which was great and we had a good night. That weekend I did some cycling and enjoyed a huge roast dinner on Sunday. The next day I squeezed one more ride in at my track before driving back to home in Belgium. Then it was onto Sweden the weekend just gone where I had a good day and had a 6th and a 4th in the sloppy wet conditions, it gave me 4th overall so the podium is dawning ever closer to me and I’m working hard to get up onto it. Finally I have some great news, after testing the standard 2013 KTM 250SX-F yesterday and being gobsmacked by how fast and agile it is for a stock bike, I’m pleased to say that I re-signed with the Nestaan JM racing KTM team last night for another year of MX2 in 2013. I’m confident I can achieve big things on the new bike as it really is unbelievable.
